1. General information regarding Schengen-visa :
•A Schengen visa is a visa for the Schengen Area: 25 countries with no border controls between them. Those countries are: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland
•Before calling or visiting the Embassy, check the information below. If you have additional questions, contact us at Emailadres seo-ca@minbuza.nl.
•All documents should be written in Dutch or English. Only complete applications will be considered.
•The visa application has to be submitted by the applicant in person.
•There is no legal right to a visa.
•Once a visa has been issued, the purpose of your stay may not be altered.
•Minors must submit the signed written consent of their parents or legal guardians.
•Visas for the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba are issued by the Royal Netherlands Embassy.
•When you apply for a Schengen-visa, you need to pay handling fee which is non-refundable.
•The visa fees are subject to change according to the exchange rate without prior notice.
•When the visa application forms have to be sent to the competent authorities in the Netherlands for review, the procession of the visa application may be time consuming. It is therefore strongly advised that visa applications are submitted at least one month before the intented date of departure.
•Applications should be submitted to the Embassy of the country of main destination (main purpose of tourism or business); if a main destination can not be ascertained, the visa application should be submitted to the Embassy of the country of first entry. Applications with main destination or first entry in Luxembourg should be submitted to the Embassy of Belgium.
•In Seoul, applicants should apply for the uniform Schengen visa at one of the following embassies :

2. Processing time :

•Processing time: minimum 3 working days.
•Depending on nationality and application it is possible that your application will be send to the competent authorities in the Netherlands for review. The processing time can take up to more than one month. Please check with the Consular Section whether or not your application has been sent for review.

3. Requirements to obtain a Schengen-visa (short-stay/transit/airport transit) :

•A valid travel document with an expiry date at least six months after the expiry date of the visa.
•1 completed and signed application form. In case of minor children, both parents will need to sign the application form. 
•1 recent photograph (size : 35mm x 45mm)
•If applicable, proof of Korean residence status (valid Alien registration card & re-entry permit: must be valid at least for 3 months from the date of return to Korea).
•Booking itinerary showing proof of return to Korea or an ongoing travel to a third country.
•Proof of sufficient means of subsistence, such as certificate of employment, salary slip, balance statement of bank account or any other proof of resources in foreign currency.
•Documentation concerning the intended accommodation, e.g. hotel reservation, rental contract, invitation letter, official certificate of commitment by the host legalized by the competent local authority in the Schengen country, etc.
•Travel insurance (minimum coverage of € 30.000 for medical costs) which should be valid in all countries passed through during the entire travel period. 
•For business travellers : proof of established or intended business relation, invitation letter from the company located in the Schengen area. Please note that an application without original invitation letter will not be handled. 
•For visiting family/relative/friend : invitation letter (officially legalized by the local municipal authority in the Netherlands) and one copy of passport of inviting person.


Note transit visa :

Depending on your nationality, you might need a transit visa in order to proceed to a third country, being the main destination. The transit visa will be restricted to the time required for transit and will not exceed five days. If the main destination is within the Schengen area (e.g. business trip of less than five days in one of the Schengen countries), you should apply for a short stay visa.

3. Note airport transit visa :

Airport transit visa are required for citizens of some countries (see the list below). It serves the sole purpose of letting you leave the plane and stay in the transit of the airport while waiting for a connecting flight. This visa is not valid for entering the country.

Applicant for an Airport Transit Visa are not required to obtain the under 3 mentioned travel insurance.
