Rosenthal receives ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean
On 10 May, foreign minister Uri Rosenthal received ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr Rosenthal stressed the Netherlands' continuing engagement with the rapid developments in the region and the opportunities they offer for closer economic relations.

Minister for European Affairs Ben Knapen was in London today for talks with his British counterpart David Lidington about developments in Europe. They focused on ways of stimulating economic growth in Europe and the need for structural reforms to make it more competitive in a changing world. ‘If we manage to genuinely complete the internal market, this will lead to economic growth in the long term,’ said Mr Knapen.
Foreign minister Uri Rosenthal has called on China’s vice foreign minister, Zhang Zhijun, [gov.cn sites] to continue China’s constructive role on the world stage. The two ministers were speaking in the margins of a visit by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, [gov.cn sites] to celebrate the 40 anniversary of diplomatic relations at embassy level between the Netherlands and China.
