The Dutch community in the Cape
The Dutch have a relatively large and lively community in the Cape. For Dutch people who live in the Cape and enjoy staying in touch with the Netherlands and their fellow countrymen, there are several organisations in the field of culture, sport and game, as well as a social network.
The South African Centre for the Netherlands and Flanders (SACNAF) in Pinelands is accommodates the Dutch library and the Dutch school.
There are a number of cultural organisations in the Cape, which organise events on a regular basis. The same can be said for the Dutch social network (the Nederlandsche Club te Kaapstad) and for VONK, a business network for Dutch business women in the Cape. In addition, there are several sports clubs for the Dutch community.
Please browse these pages for more information on the wide variety of Dutch organisations, and their contact details.
